COGZ Runtime Security – Form Level Access Restrictions

With COGZ Plant Maintenance Software and the optional SecureTrac Module, you can create additional security levels to be used in conjunction with existing system security features.  This option enables you to setup new security doors that control access to specific areas of your plant maintenance software.

A new security door can be setup to block a specific area or function. Note: To avoid blocking all users, the door will have to be granted to users who require specific access. To allow a user specific access to the new door, the user will need  access rights granted to the general area.

Runtime Security Setup Sequence

For example, to restrict the ability to Delete Equipment from the Equipment List:

1. Open the Equipment List (Wide)

2. Click ADD to bring up the Equipment Form (While Delete appears on the Equipment List, the actual procedure applies to the Equipment Form).

3. Press Ctrl+F10 to bring up the Change Security form.

4. Check the Restrict Delete Access Check Box

5. Browse to the System Security Door List

6. Click Add to create a new door.  Enter a meaningful name such as Equipment DELETE

7. Click OK, Close, and OK to return to COGZ.

8. At this point you have created new door (Equipment DELETE) and no one has access to it. Go to File, System Security and GRANT access to this new Equipment DELETE door for users that need this function; always include the Administrator!

Note: If Allow Manager Override is checked, the administrator can override the current access denied status of the particular user.

Additional information on COGZ System Security can be found in the COGZ Manual under System Security Runtime Form in the File Section.
